Textures of Ballpoint Pen

I dragged Jamie to the Range to grab a waterproof fineliner, but ended up buying three ballpoint pens and becoming obsessed with creating texture. I’ve really been enjoying conveying different feelings using markmaking in this way.

Here I started brainstorming different textures.

This was a cute mixture of the textures used alongside bright colours and mixed media.

I had this little pineapple guy in my head all day today. He jumped out of my brain and onto the page and it went so well!

The sketchbook experiments also led to some digital work you can see was inspired by the same textures.

The different ways of filling in the negative space created different feelings. It also creates slightly different densities.
